To reduce the risk of the spread of the novel coronavirus in the community, the services at all Smart Identity Card Replacement Centres ("Replacement Centres") have been suspended from 23 March 2020 until further notice. Members of the public who have made appointment for replacement of Hong Kong identity card ("HKIC") may proceed to the Replacement Centres upon our resumption of services later, and need not make another appointment.
Holders of HKICs who were born in 1960 or 1961 and are unable to replace their HKICs within their specified call-up period (i.e. on or before April 20) due to the above circumstances shall proceed to the Replacement Centres for HKIC replacement upon our resumption of services later. Flexible arrangement will be made for applicants according to their situation.
Besides, members of the public may proceed to the Replacement Centres on later days to collect their new HKICs if they cannot do so within the collection period shown on their Notice of Collection.
The measures will be reviewed according to the situation. Before proceeding to the Replacement Centres, applicants are advised to check the latest Government press release (https://www.isd.gov.hk/eng
