Who shall replace identity cards?

The territory-wide Identity Card Replacement Exercise covers all Hong Kong residents, regardless of whether they are Hong Kong permanent residents, or residents for employment (including foreign domestic helper), investment or study.

Secretary for Security issued an Order to announce the details of the first cycle. The arrangement will be as follows:

You may make appointment and prefill forms on the Internet www.gov.hk/newicbooking or through the Immigration Department's Mobile Application before visiting the smart identity card replacement centre so that you may save queuing time and enjoy a faster registration process.

Note: Except Cycle A, the designated schedule for replacement at Smart Identity Card Replacement Centres is for indicative purpose only.  The schedule and the sequence may be adjusted in the light of actual experience.
